Spring Dance Concert

Tracen's dance studio does a Spring Concert every year and he was in it this year. It was really fun to watch him. He is getting so big!

My niece Teal

My niece Sienna

Tracen's dance was to Rodney Atkins' "Watching You" and one part talks about praying and this is all those cute boys praying

At one point the dads of all the boys came out and gave them piggybacks. It was the cutest thing ever! Miss Margene did a good job of hiding that from all the mom's. None of us knew they were doing that- not even her daughter who is a teacher and helps with the concert!

Finale time with cousin Sam

All the dancers did a wonderful job!

The Toof Fairy

On Mother's Day weekend Tracen had to get a tooth pulled. Tracen had a pretty bad cavity in it and the dentist cleaned it out and put a silver cap on it- sort of like a mini root canal- a while back when he was in for a check up. Well, apparently the cavity was further down than he realized and some infection had been building up under the cap. Tracen's cheek was swollen and you could tell he just didn't feel good. Poor thing. So we called Dr. Walker- the BEST dentist ever!- and he came in on a saturday when he was supposed to be leaving for vacation to take care of our boy! How awesome is he? Tracen got two doses of novocaine to make sure he was numb before the pulling began. He was the bravest little boy I've ever come across! I had to look away at one point and I don't think he even cried! He got his own Lightning McQueen cup with a snow-globe on the bottom for it too because I felt so bad! Anyway, we all lived, but to top it off, the tooth fairy forgot to come get Tracen's tooth! Luckily he made it while we were at church. (Yes I said he- because the tooth fairy is a he in our house. Kids can't watch a show where the tooth fairy is a he and then expect them to believe you when you try telling them it's a she! Oh the world we live in!) We weren't prepared for the tooth fairy to come so soon. We thought we had some time and would have had it not been for cavities. So to end our Toof Fairy story- all is well until the tooth fairy forgets to come again!

Tracen with his loot once the tooth fairy made it after a busy night! The money was folded into an airplane, but he was too excited to keep it that way. I hope he forgets that it was two dollars because I don't think that will happen every time.

Trying to show where his tooth is now missing. It's on the left (looking at the picture) in the back. We just have to watch for his molars to come in so we can get spacers in there to keep the spot open for his "big boy" teeth.

Cruise to the Bahamas

Chad and I were able to go on a cruise to the Bahamas the end of January. It was so much fun! Buckle up because there are a lot of photos (and I didn't include them all!)

Our ship the Norwegian Sky

Our Jeep tour- we drove around the island in jeeps. They drive on the left side of the road there like the British so it was a little weird.

Here are the cute ladies we shared a jeep with. Here we are driving on the beach!

Isn't this flower cool?

Our tour guide (I think his name is Mark) wanted to play volleyball. So he gathered up some players and Chad volunteered. Bahama Mammas were on the line! After all was said and done, Mark bought all the players a Bahama Mamma. When Chad told the bar tender to just give him water she said "No- he said Bahama Mamma so that is what you get!" Luckily we found someone who didn't play that wanted it.

Atlantis
This is where some folks park their yachts who live nearby

The public beach not far from Atlantis- you can see it behind me. We couldn't go on the beach right by it because we weren't patrons of the hotel. And we probably never will be unless Chad wins the lottery!

I'm not sure why this picture is sideways- it's not on my computer- but I have to share. One night the cruise director was telling us some of the crazy questions he gets and one was "What do you do with the ice sculptors when they melt?" HE HE! Here's one we overheard: "Do you have a taxi to take me to my room?" We laughed along with the waiter who had to tell her "No just take the elevator." At least she was trying to be responsible and not drink and drive.

Norwegian Cruise Line has their own private island in the Bahamas and this is the view from our chair. The most relaxing day ever!

It's kind of hard to tell, but there is a yellowish line just below my foot. That's a fish! That is how close the fish were to us. I'm so glad we didn't rent snorkeling gear because we saw it all just off the shore!

According the crew- this is the biggest blow-up water slide. I'm chicken and didn't go. Some of the kids that were going looked like they slamming hard when they hit the bottom and I wasn't about to try that. I was relaxing remember?

Doing a little YMCA

Yes we are still crazy in love and try to make each other laugh!

Of course we had little towel animals come visit us while on the ship- however we never had any mints come visit us! What is up with that?

Randomness

I was looking at some pictures and came across some random ones. It made me realize that I need to organize our pictures a little better. Enjoy!

He fell onto my foot and scraped his nose on my toe!

He was throwing a fit and wouldn't let me get him dressed. He fell asleep mid- fit!

Our new basketball court

Hangin' out at the shop- sometimes we feel like we live there

Tracen's first day of his first year of preschool. What a goon!

The Nutcracker

Tracen has been taking dance this year. Miss Margene teaches dance as well as preschool and there was an all boy class this year! They met once a week right after preschool. They were teddy bears in the play and did an awesome job! Here's a peak at what when on.

Waiting at dress rehearsal

Dress rehearsal. I'm not sure why the picture is so blurry.

What do a bunch of little boys do while waiting backstage for their turn on stage? Eat Funions- good thing they don't sing!...

Make silly faces...

And watch a movie- Polar Express
Plus a little bit of running around and getting dressed.

I am so proud of Tracen. I wasn't sure if he would do it- especially two nights in a row, but he did. He has loved dance which also surprises me, but we'll let him do it as long as it is something he enjoys. I hope there's an all boy class next year too.

The Big 0-4

Tracen turned 4 this year and we decided to let him have a birthday party with friends. He wanted a pirate theme so that's what he got.

On his actual birthday we went bowling- he's done that every year.

Christmas-Time 2009

Okay, so I'm going backwards- in two ways. 1. This was all before our Orlando trip. 2. This entry starts on Christmas Day and goes backwards. Sorry- I can't get my pictures to move once I get them in here. Maybe someday I'll figure this out.

Skelton party

Grandma's gone digital!

Christmas Day sledding. We had so much fun I think we will make this one of our family traditions!

Chad and Tracen going down the hill. AHHH!

Being crazy!

Tracen's gift from Santa. He has so much fun but practices his numbers and letters at the same time. That tricky Santa!

I figured we'd better match them while they don't care.

Seeing the presents Santa brought

Christmas Eve- Grandma Dewitt got them matching PJs

Tracen has tools just like Grandpa!

Hello?

Thaxton Party. Cousin Scott playing the piano- we all love it when he starts playing!

Sneaking Dessert

Uncle "Awesome" with Myles

Tracen's preschool Christmas program. He did awesome! (His mom not so much- I didn't dress him in red and green like EVERY other kid!)
