Kids Say The Darndest Things: Part Deux

I took Tracen to the doctors last Friday because I thought he had strep. (Which he did.) Well, I thought I had it too and when it was confirmed that he had it I knew I did. So I went to the Urgent Care to go through the formalities so I could get medicine. Tracen was with me since we had gone strait from his doctor's office. We had been waiting about 30 minutes when Tracen said (rather loudly) "I wish they would come say Melissa so we could go!" All I could do was laugh!

End of Summer Fun

We were able to go camping with my granparents up in the Uintas. We had a lot of fun riding the 4 wheelers. Tracen now thinks we should get one- I kind of agree. It got really cold the second day so we had a fire going the whole day- something I'm not used to. It was a lot of fun and it was good to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Dewitt.

Our new tent that we got for $40! It's great because we have so much room. Even Myles' pac n' play fits in it!

Tracen going for a ride with Dad and Jessica. He loved it!

The boys with Anna and Grandma.

Grandma and Grandpa Dewitt and Mom waiting for tin foil dinners. YUM!

We also got to go camping at Willard Bay the weekend before school started. It's become a tradition. Tracen agreed to go on the tube only with Uncle Adam though! We were just happy that he was willing to try it out. He had so much fun! I haven't been tubing in so long and it didn't take long before I was tuckered out! But a lot of fun.
Tracen with his sandcastle that KB helped him build.

It's a bird. It's a plane. No it's Stepho!

Of course Myles fell asleep on the boat. Tracen always did too.

Kid's Say the Darndest Things

I don't remember what we were talking about, but Tracen responded to me saying "It's easy peasy!" I chuckled then he said "It's easy like cheesey in a box!" I laughed so hard! Kids say the darndest things and I wouldn't change it for anything. It makes the world a better place.

From Then To Now

We have been alive and doing some fun things since Easter, but you wouldn't know that because I am not very good at keeping our blog updated. So here it goes.

Here are the boys getting ready to watch the fireworks at the West Fest. We go every year and always have fun. Tracen thought the 3-D glasses were cool.

Tracen watching one of the softball games that Chad plays in. Chad made him his own jersey so he now thinks he is one of the team. I love this picture.

4th of July Trip to San Diego

This is Myles' first time touching the sand. He wasn't too sure of it. Tracen is not a fan of the sand either. We have such whimpy boys! (I'm not a fan either becuase it gets everywhere! but my excuse is that I'm the mom who has to clean it all up!)

We took this picture right before fireworks were to start. Myles is half asleep so I stayed in the room with him so he could go to bed while Chad and Tracen went to the roof for the show. Someone ended up doing some fireworks on the beach right in front of our room so I ended up seeing a great show too.

Tracen and Sam

Tracen driving the car at Legoland. He loved this ride. The car has a gas pedal that he had to actually push to go and he had to steer. He is quite the little driver. They gave him a "driver's license" at the end too.

Tracen and me in front of "Treasure Island" in Las Vegas. They had whole cities made of legos. It was amazing what they can do with those. It was a really fun day- I'm sure we'll be back.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Here are some pictures from the festivities over the weekend.

Tracen

Tracen is such a funny kid. I usually laugh at him at least once a day. Backyardigans is a favortie show at our house and because of this we have a couple of thier DVDs. We have one of them at Chad's shop so he can be entertained while we are working. Well, one of the episodes is about a race around the world and there is a song (of course) that says "Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!" and so on. When that part came on he would run as fast as he could around the huge table in the middle of the floor. It was funny. Then we were asking him who wins the race and he proceeded to tell us that it is Austin and he has to cut the ribbon at the end. Well, the next thing I know Tracen has found tape and cut a big piece off. He had one end stuck to a big plastic bin and the other end stuck to his brother's bouncer (Myles was not in the bouncer at the time). Then he would run a little ways around the table, then sort of glide across the floor and say he was snowboarding, then sit on the floor and pretend he was rowing, then run again- these are the things the characters have to do in the race on the show. Once he got to the tape he had strung up, he grabbed the scissors he had placed convenently on the big bin and cut the tape and declares "I won! I won!" It was the cutest thing and it made me laugh. I am so glad that he has such a great imagination.

The other cute thing that makes me smile every time is when he says "addition". We have been working our addition for quite some time and everytime we say we have to work he assumes it's on the addition. Only he says "ma dition" It is cute every time and never gets old.

Oregon

We went to Oregon the week after Christmas. We had a great time! We flew into Portland, spent a day on the coast, then went to southern Oregon, and even drove into California to see the redwoods. Those trees are amazing! They are huge! If any of you get a chance to visit that part of the US I highly recommend it. Then we drove back up to Portland and flew home (on our anniversary). It was really nice to get away from everything for a while. I will say that traveling with two kids is very different than traveling with one. Luckily for us both boys are great travelers- it must be in thier blood. Here are some pictures from our wonderful trip.

Here is Tracen on the coast.

For Tracen's birthday we went to a Children's Museum and he had a blast in the "gravel pit".

Chad and Tracen at one of the biggest trees in the area we were at. This tree is about 24 feet across.

We saw these wild elk to the highway enterance. They knew they were okay since they were in a national park and couldn't be hunted there. It was fun to see them so close.

Happy Anniversary!

Chad and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on Jan 2nd! We spent the day traveling back from Oregon. Exciting I know. (Pictures of our trip are to come.) It made us realize how fast time flies! I think it goes even quicker when you have kids! I always say what a lucky girl I am to have Chad as my husband! He is such a great husband and a wonderful dad. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He is so great! I love you babe!

I guess I'd better update our profile too.
